The Club

SwimLife has the ethos of a swim team: We look to better ourselves and those around us. We’re an organization dedicated to empowering the neurodiverse through athletics and educating the public about the value of neurodifferences.

Partnering with SportsPlus, we offer high school students the opportunity to help neurodiverse athletes build self-confidence and determination. We train our volunteers to instruct with their student’s neurodifferences in mind, teaching our club members instructing techniques based in neuro-behavioral research. We look to expand our program across the nation and become an accredited training program.

The Founders

Brothers Pierre and Sebastien Zeineddin started SwimLife during their volunteering with SportsPlus, a swim and sports clinic for those with autism. They saw the tremendous impact that volunteering not only had on building confidence and skills in neurodiverse swimmers, but the growth of humanity that came from understanding and valuing neurodifferences. They established SwimLife in 2018 at Richard Montgomery HS to share that exhilarating experience.

The Board of Directors

In 2019, Joshua Hou and Jonathan Ye joined Pierre and Sebastien, expanding SwimLife to Poolesville high school. Joshua and Jonathan have served as integral leaders in SwimLife, integrating much of the Poolesville Swim Team into the SwimLife family and helping to build and manage SwimLife’s Instagram and Facebook platforms. Together, Pierre, Jonathan, Sebastien, and Joshua serve as the SwimLife Board of Directors.

Branches

SwimLife is a DMV based organization. Founded in 2018 at Richard Montgomery high school, the club has expanded to include branches at Poolesville, Wootton, Quince Orchard, and Northwest.

Updates

While the pandemic has halted all of our in-person volunteering opportunities, SwimLife and Sports Plus have gone virtual and continue to engage neurodiverse athletes online. Activities include teen socials, exercise classes, karaoke nights, and much more! Please contact your school’s branch leader if you are interested in volunteering.
